Looking For (television aesthetics) A TV Bargain?
No commentsBy Aydan Corkern
Have you noticed that the televisions in your neighborhood stores have been disappearing? These televisions have been changing their looks and styles ever since they first came out on the market. When they first came on the screen, the picture or tube was only 9 inches across and now you can buy them with 60-inch screens or more. Televisions that are greater than 60 inches are usually not found in homes. A 60-inch television is pretty wide and very heavy to move, and you would have to have a good-sized area to set this television into.
These TV’s are very expensive and if they get destroyed, which is really easy to do, you are just out your money because the parts that might be needed to fix them are almost as expensive as the TV’s themselves. There are all different brands and models to choose from. If you really want to have one of the big ones, just make sure that you can hook other electronic machines to it because the older ones could not be hooked onto these machines at all.
Most TV’s that you see at the 20 to 27-inch range can usually be purchased for fewer than 300 dollars. Once you go up in size, it will cost you in price. As consumers, we are always looking for bargains so if we see a sale on these TV’s, we will think about maybe buying one. Most people will end up buying one. Some of these people won’t even need the thing in the first place but just cannot pass up a bargain. These types of sales will happen the day after Thanksgiving, and these sales will kick off the Christmas season.
Consumers will take advantage of sales like these to buy Christmas presents for all the members of their family. You might see some of them with two or more TV’s and a couple of small stereo systems. You might even see some of these people have a cart full of all of these bargains. This is what the stores that are running these sales like to see because this means that they are getting rid of some of their stock. These sales will be run from 6 o’clock in the morning to noon and if they still have too much of this stock, they might even extend this sale for a longer period of time.

The Magic of a TV Lift
By Ron Subs
Have you ever see a cabinet in a movie or maybe even in an office where a TV miraculously rises up from within a hidden compartment? A TV lift is the device that makes it happen. It is bolted directly to the TV so it can’t fall and become damaged. The lift is operated by remote control, allowing it to be operated from anywhere in the room. Once raised, some have swivels allowing the screen to be turned so everyone can watch the program. The entire device is hidden in the cabinet so no one sees it. This also protects the TV from overly-boisterous children, a careless guest at a party, or even a clumsy thief.
When looking to purchase a TV lift it is important to know what to look for. Some models come fairly cheaply, but are made with plastic gears that can break easily. Then there are other models that are fairly expensive with rack and pinion lift technology. Those are made to last, but how big of a cabinet do you really want to have? A lift with rack and pinion lift technology requires a fairly large cabinet. Another thing you want to be aware of is the noise level of the TV lift. You might want to watch a movie after putting the children to bed, but if the TV lift sounds like a 747 taking off they won’t be asleep for long! A telescoping lift such as the one offered by Nexus 21 TV Lift Systems are only 5 decibels. That’s less than a whisper and sure to guarantee that the little ones stay asleep and afford you a relaxing movie night…at least once in a while. You will also want to find out what the warranty is. One year is good, two is better, but if you pay attention you will find one company that stands behind their product for a full five years.
You may wonder where you can put a TV lift. Just about anywhere. Imagine the many possibilities including offices, boardrooms, bedrooms, RV’s, boats, home theatres, and just about anywhere else you would put a TV. It is no longer necessary to make the television the focal point of the room. TV lift technology allows any room to multi-task from its usual purpose to a TV room at the push of a button, literally. Even the area formerly known as the back porch, now the “all-seasons room”, can benefit from a TV lift. Imagine you are out on the back porch enjoying a beautiful fall evening and suddenly you realize that it is time for your favorite TV program to begin. There is no need to rush in the house and let the beautiful fresh air escape you, just press the button and enjoy your outdoor theatre.

Your Online Guide To The TV Business
Media Transcription Services

If a client requests for a time code for the transcriptions assigned, arrangements can be made to insert a visible time code at the beginning of the answer and roughly every 30 seconds thereafter, if the footage consist of interviews, thus if an interviewee takes 60 seconds to respond to a question a time code mark will be inserted at the beginning of the answer and approximately 30 seconds later.
It must be mentioned that time coding for normal transcriptions is accurate to +/- 2 to 3 seconds, only full continuities offer frame accurate time code, and if the footage is unstructured, just as it is in Realty TV dailies, then a time code will be inserted every 30 seconds, since no obvious place will be available to mark the beginning and end of an audio response. A time code mark is not inserted for questions asked, but for answers given only.
For time code transcriptions, the content should be submitted on DVD, MP4 digital files or VHS with a visible time code burn, VHS tapes should be recorded in SP mode with HIFI sound and clients should make sure ELP or SLP recording modes are not selected when making the dubs. Our preferred medium of transcription will be a DVD than a VHS. We also offer time coding from audio cassettes and digital audio files such as MP3 or WAV that have audible time code.
Time stamps can also be provided in lieu of Time code when content is submitted without any Visible or Audible Time code. Time stamping only references the head of the counter and the master tapes submitted, time stamping starts from 0: 00: 00.
About Feature Film & Television shows Continuities.

1. A Cut-by-Cut spotting will have a time code mark at the beginning and end of the edit.
2. Dialog spotting is very pronounced and indicates that each line of dialog is marked with time code at the beginning and end of each shot.
